ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between motivation and worker productivity, specifically focusing on the National Population Commission (NPC) Enugu headquarter as a case study. The aim was to assess the impact of motivation on the performance of workers inside the NPC. This study conducted a comprehensive evaluation of existing literature pertaining to leadership styles and motivational ideas. In addition, the study utilised questionnaire and interview methodologies extensively in order to collect the requisite data. These assertions were substantiated by the utilisation of data collection methods, including personal observation. Following the data collecting process, the acquired data was organised and analysed through the utilisation of tables and charts, enabling the presentation and examination of the responses provided by the individuals who were recruited in the study. The results of this study indicate that the primary factor influencing worker motivation is monetary incentives. It is imperative to acknowledge and consider alternative forms of motivation. Subsequent research has demonstrated a strong correlation between heightened productivity and job happiness, which is influenced by the motivation levels of employees. This study advocates for the cultivation of strategic motivation inside organisations as a means to sustain and enhance productivity.
